Narelle Kheng is a Singaporean musician and actor.

Being introduced to the arts at a young age Narelle has been trained in many different aspects such as ballet, voice, gymnastics and music. She did two years of Theatre Studies and Drama and was awarded an A grade for her 2011 A level Cambridge assessment. Following which she worked briefly with Cake Theatre before entering Nanyang Technological University where she is currently still a communications undergraduate.

In 2012 Narelle founded the pop-band The Sam Willows, which are now signed by Sony Music Sg. They have performed on multiple global stages including, SXSW Festival in Austin; Canadian Music Festival in Toronto; MU:CON and Zandari Festa in Seoul as well as Western Australian Music Festival in Perth. They have also played many notable local stages such as the Mediacorp New Year countdown in 2012 and 2014; the 2014 President Star Charity; 28th Sea Games Opening and Closing ceremony; Singapore’s 50th NDP Jubilee Celebrations and Singapore Formula 1 Gran Prix 2013, 2014 and 2015. The have been recorded by 5-time Grammy Award Winner Steve Lillywhite and their latest single, Take Heart, hit no.1 on the Singapore iTunes chart; charted on Spotify’s viral top 50 in Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan; and is also the first local song to hit no.1 on the 98.7fm’s top 20 chart.

Narelle’s craft also extends into acting. Apart from several appearances in local series/movies and student films, she’s played the female lead in the channel 5 telemovie, Two Boys And A Mermaid, and the female lead in the okto telemovie, Heartlands. Together with her blood brother, Benjamin, the pair hosted and acted in Do-It-Yourself, a channel 5 variety-mockumentary-sitcom that aired in 2014. They also paired up once again to host season 7 of oktoLIVE!, which aired in real time.

In line with her studies in Film, Narelle has written and directed several school film projects. She also directed and edited the Music Video for Gentle Bones’, Sixty Five, which is out on YouTube Vevo.
