Alaric began his entertainment career at the age of seventeen. Discovered by director Glen Goei, Alaric was casted in the memorable local movie, Forever Fever.
He has taken on diverse roles over the years, including leads in tele-movies like Ang Tao Mui, Adventures of Holden Heng, and a well-received comic turn in the dramedy, Money. Alaric also played lead roles in the sitcom, The Yang Sisters Season 1 & 2 and The Noose Season 1 & 2 which ran on Ch5 as well as Random Acts, which was aired on Arts Central. His amusing physicality has provided shows like Whizzes of the Void Deck and Double Chin comic spice. He also played the role of a Chinese prisoner in a UK channel (Lion TV) production of The Great Wall and was last seen on big screen for film Carrot Cake Conversations. This actor is truly diverse!
A gifted orator, Alaric has also hosted a variety of road shows to Dinner-&-dances, to high profile banquets involving national statesmen, politicians and ambassadors. Despite his youth, this former artiste of the Singapore Armed Forces Music and Drama Company is able to bring new depth and definition to the art of hosting.
With various performance credits to his name, Alaric is an active participant in the film and entertainment community. He has produced, written and directed several short films that have received critical acclaim at international film festivals around the world. A student of the late John Spencer (The West Wing), Alaric is an Associate of Breaking Into Hollywood® - a non-profit entertainment organization, based in Los Angeles. He is also Vice-President (Recruitment) of Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Film, Sound and Video Alumni Chapter and holds a Bachelor of Film & Television from Griffith University, Australia.
His short film, When We Were Bengs, won multiple awards from the Reelheart International Film Festival in Canada. At the 13th Lyon Asian Film Festival, 18 grams of Love, whom he was the lead actor, also won multiple awards and was also showcased at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008.
Alaric was recently awarded a grant from the Media Development Authority (MDA) to produce his first feature film Thunder Boys. This project-in-development will be his directorial debut in the long form and his latest production is on Channel 5’s Serves You Right (premiered Jan 2009).
