Best known for her iconic, award-winning role as Rosie Phua in Singapore’s longest-running sitcom Phua Chu Kang, Irene Ang is a pioneering entertainer, entrepreneur, and industry leader whose influence spans television, film, business, and public service.
Born and raised in Singapore, Irene built an extraordinary career through grit, humour, and a razor-sharp instinct for storytelling. Alongside her work as an actress, she founded FLY Entertainment, growing it into Singapore’s leading talent management and entertainment company.
Irene’s notable accomplishments include winning Best Comedy Performance by an Actress at the Asian Television Awards (2002) for Phua Chu Kang and again in 2014 for Spouse for House. In 2010, she became the first Singaporean actress invited to join the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences jury. She has been honoured with Greatest Women of Our Time by Singapore Women’s Weekly (2010) and the Outstanding Achievement Award (Movies) at the Singapore Entertainment Awards (2011), alongside major nominations such as Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year (2004) and Top 25 Businesswomen in Singapore (2007). Beyond acting, she is a highly sought-after collaborator for major brands such as Helpling and Singtel, thanks to her authenticity, humour, and strong public resonance. Irene is an active contributor to society, serving on boards and committees including the South West Community Development Council, the Yellow Ribbon Fund, and the CASE Board. Most recently, she is the Creator and Executive Producer of Superstreamer Asia, the region’s first-ever livestreamer reality competition series, set to premiere in March 2026.
